CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a nurse are both healthcare professionals, but they have different roles and responsibilities. CNAs provide basic patient care, while nurses, particularly Registered Nurses (RNs), have a broader scope of practice, including diagnosis, medication administration, and more complex patient care.

Course Description
A 2-year CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) diploma program is a comprehensive vocational training course designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to provide basic healthcare services in a variety of clinical and home settings. Over the course of two years, students undergo both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical practice under the supervision of licensed nurses and healthcare professionals. The curriculum typically covers key areas such as anatomy and physiology, infection control, patient care techniques, medical terminology, communication skills, emergency procedures, and ethical/legal aspects of healthcare. Students also learn how to assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, feeding, mobility, and vital sign monitoring. The program places a strong emphasis on compassionate care, safety, and professionalism. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the CNA certification exam required to work as a certified nursing assistant in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private residences. This diploma serves as both a standalone qualification for immediate employment and a foundational step for further nursing education.
